There is a common belief that you have to choose between writing for people and writing for Google. In practice, the pages that rank well for a long time are usually the ones people find genuinely useful. Here is what we focus on when we write or edit content for clients.

Answer the question on the first screen

If someone searches "how much does a trade licence cost in Dubai", they want a figure or a range, not three paragraphs about the city's growth. Give the short answer near the top, then explain the details. Readers who only needed the quick answer leave satisfied. The rest keep reading because you have earned their trust.

Write for one specific reader

Picture a real person: a clinic owner in Al Barsha, a first-time founder setting up in a free zone, a marketing manager comparing agencies. Write as if you were explaining it to them across a table. Your tone gets warmer, your examples get specific, and the padding disappears.

Make it easy to scan

Most people scan before they read. Help them:

  • Use headings that say something, such as "What affects the price" instead of "Overview".
  • Keep paragraphs short, especially on mobile.
  • Use lists for steps and options, and tables for comparisons.
  • Bold the occasional key phrase, never whole sentences.

Show that you have done the work

Anyone can rewrite the top five results. What they cannot copy is your experience. Add photos from your own projects, a mistake you often see clients make, the questions customers actually ask you, or figures from your own work where you are able to share them. This is what Google means when it talks about experience and expertise, and it is exactly what makes readers trust you.

Keep it local

If your customers are in the UAE, say so. Use prices in AED, local regulations, area names and local examples. Content written for "anywhere" competes with the whole internet. Content written for Dubai competes with far fewer pages and speaks directly to the people you want.

Get the on-page basics right

  • A clear title tag with the main keyword near the start, kept to around 60 characters.
  • A meta description that tells people why they should click.
  • One H1, with H2s and H3s that follow a logical outline.
  • Internal links to related articles and services, with descriptive link text.
  • Descriptive alt text on images, and image files compressed for mobile.

None of these will make weak content rank. Skipping them can hold strong content back.

Give the reader a next step

Every article should end somewhere useful: a related guide, a tool, a booking link or a simple way to ask a question. Engaged readers want to keep going, so make it obvious where to go next.

Update what you have published

Content ages. Prices change, rules change and better examples come along. Set a reminder to review your most visited articles every six months. Refreshing an article that already ranks is often faster, and more effective, than writing a new one.

The short version

Lead with the answer, write for one person, structure for scanners, add what only you know, keep it local and keep it current.

Do that consistently and engagement and rankings tend to follow each other.
